Holding these softly rounded objects neatly in the palm of one's hand warms the heart with the spatiotemporal image of the artist adding petal after petal to create such a work.
I find that the modern appearance of such a traditional image as the chrysanthemum motif is created by the hue and form of the work.
The shape of the flower-petal incense case, the balance between the roundness of the vase and its opening, as well as the shapes lining the inside of the incense burner all bring out a unique nostalgic yet refreshing feeling.
This work could be aptly described by the hazy phrase, “It is seems so familiar yet I've never seen it before.”
Each one reminds me of soft femininity, of a prettiness that touches the heart.
