The International Ceramics Festival’20 Mino, Japan originally scheduled to be held from September 18 to October 18, 2020 will be postponed for about 1 year because of the influence of Pandemic of COVID-19.
We will decide the details of period and contents of the postponement.
We feel very sad about this postponement, but we will do all the best for success of the Festival. It would be very much appreciated if you could understand this situation and give us continuous cooperation.
1.Present Situation
Presently, we are asking artists who passed the First Stage of the main event “the 12th International Ceramics Competition Mino” to send their works toward the Final Stage of Judging which was to be held on July 12th & 13th. However, under the influence of the pandemic of COVID-19, some logistics are stopped or delayed and a part of artists cannot ship their works to us.
2.Postponement of the Meeting of The Final Stage of “the 12th International Ceramics Competition Mino, Japan”
We have unavoidable circumstance to postpone the meeting of the Final Stage of Judging. From the perspective of the fairness of applicants, we also listened to the opinions of each judge, we considered that we should not hold the meeting of the Final Stage with omitting artists who cannot ship their art works. Also, gathering 10 people of judging panel including judges from overseas could increases the risk of infection, we decided to postpone the meeting of the Final Stage of Judging.
3.Postponement of “the International Ceramics Festival’20 Mino, Japan”
We decided to postpone “the International Ceramics Festival’20, Mino Japan”. The postponement of the meeting of the Final Stage keeps us from determining the award winning works and honorable mentions and we need to postpone “the 12th International Ceramics Competition Mino, Japan”. We cannot foresee when this pandemic situation will come to an end. Therefore, we will postpone “the International Ceramics Festival’20 Mino, Japan, too.
